Inside the Royal Exchange Theatre
I have a confession to make people.
This is actually the first HDR I ever made with my friend Ed’s Sigma 10-20mm.
I know that I have been posting other 10-20mm shots recently but I was sorta excited about this one so I have been saving it.
It’s inside the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. As you can tell from the image, it’s a pretty wicked wide angle and I had it set up portrait wise so that I could capture the amazing dome sky light the building has and also keep some of the possibly over the top decor the theatre sports.
The colours seem a little fake but I assure you there was no tweaking to cause this. HDR’s need more exposures when you take them indoors I feel. And I think there is a compromise with the colour because everything is lit by bulbs which give off a sort of orange glow. However, that said, I quite like this shot.
It might not be everybody’s cup of tea but my recent posts have been of, truth be told, rather sub-par pseudo HDR’s (they are never as good as the real thing) and so to get back to what I love to make is great.
I hope you like it

And so you should be - this is superb!!!
Thank you very much Tim Norris
I’m liking your HDR stuff. Are place ok with you setting up a tripod etc? Like the Royal Exchange etc?
to be honest, nobody seems to have a problem. only one time can i remember ever being asked to move on.
public places like the royal exchange are normally fine so long as you don’t cover any public entrance/exits and it’s always nice to ask a member of staff, at least that way you’ve got somebody on your side
